VOLUNTEER FOR SHIFTS = SHOP BEFORE THE PUBLIC

SET-UP:

Set-up shifts are fantastic for anyone with an open mind to pitch in wherever needed. YAMS Set-Up Volunteers will be setting up the racks, assembling shelves, moving, tables, hanging signage, and getting the floor ready for consignor drop-offs.

Quality Control Check-In During Drop-Offs and Sales Floor Organization:

YAMS Volunteers during these shifts will be working with our consignors during dropping off their items off at the La Porte County Fairgrounds. YAM Volunteers will make sure that the items that are being consigned are clean and meet our high quality standards. They will be checking for stains, rips, holes, broken zippers, missing buttons in clothing. We want to be the standard of high quality shopping at a low price.

YAM Volunteers that work these shifts will also have the opportunity to be setting up the sales floor, putting out inventory, organizing sections of the sales floor, and transforming the space into an organized and shoppable event.

YAMS Volunteers during these shifts must have a keen eye for detail and quality. The last shift workers of each day will be involved in “OCD Organizing.”

PRESALE, PUBLIC SALE & 1/2 PRICE SALE DAY:

YAMS Volunteers are vital to preserving the sales floor oranized for oh so happy shopper. They will be putting items back that shoppers have decided they no longer wish to purchase, managing rack space to keep all of the clothes spaced nicely. Organizing the sales floor of toys, books, etc. They may be assigned to any number of roles, greeting, helping with load-out of large items, organizing sales floor, cashier/check-out, sorting, etc.. Flexibility to roll with the flow and asks will be a desired characteristic for these shifts.

Sort & Tear Down:

The last leg of the race! YAY! YAMS Volunteers will help tear down and get everything out of the La Porte County Fairgrounds before 3:00 PM on Saturday. This is the last day of the event and will need to be efficient as there are a lot of moving pieces to this day. Not only will we have shoppers in attendance, but we will have our charity partners there to help remove the unsold items, deconstruction of racks and shelves, removal of signs, etc.. This shift would GREATLY appreciate some handymen with strong backs and a tool belt. We also need at least two people with full size trucks and trailers to help transport to the Caring Clothing Coop and the New Priarie Cougar Closet.
